Labour of Love 2013 @ GUV

Labour of Love 2013

One word can explain #LoL2013... MADNESS! After all my years in the scene in Toronto as a photographer or as a party person I'd never attended a Labour of Love event at Guvernment before, until this year. For those of you who have never been lets just say it's a mix of some amazing music and artists, beautiful people (especially the dancers!), crazy light shows and enough energy to power a decent sized city all under one all access roof for 2 nights and encompassing Chroma, Skybar, Guvernment & Kool Haus venues.

Dudeman’s “Colour Therapy” art show photos

DudemanArt 2013- Nick Wons-78 (Custom)

On March 21st I was asked by my long time friend and oldschool Toronto artist Nicholas Sinclair aka Dudeman to document his first solo art show entitled "Colour Therapy". For years Nicholas has been pushing the creative envelope with his vibrant art work and unique style which has landed him numerous gigs with clients such as Hermes, Chatelaine, Rogers Wireless, Holt Renfrew, Microsoft and countless other big name clients. For those that were at the event, here's the photos you've been looking for. For those who missed out, here's where you can see exactly what you missed.

Visiting Ontario’s last P.O.W. camp: Camp 30

Ehrenwort is a German word meaning "Word of Honour"; this was what everything at Camp 30 revolved around. Unlike what you'd typically expect from a P.O.W. camp these prisoners were permitted to leave for the day on the honour system provided they returned for the evening's roll call. Although there were a few escape attempts during its operation, not one prisoner successfully escaped from Camp 30.

Lazy, yet not so Lazy Sundays

Golden Explosion

I like to spend them at home editing photos such as the one in this post. It's not often I get time to just hang out and do nothing (without getting distracted) so productive days like this are always a welcome addition to my schedule, or current lack there of. And when there is time to be lazy then that means make the most of exerting as little energy moving so that means using a keyboard and mouse are certainly acceptable "low impact" activities, at least that's how my brain works.

TIFF 2012: ARGOF*CKYOURSELF! (Argo review)

I must admit, as much as I dislike the end of summer I always look forward to TIFF, and this year is no exception. I had the pleasure of attending the world premier screening of Ben Affleck's film "Argo" at Roy Thompson Hall on Friday, now I'm no hardcore movie buff but here is my quick review of Friday's screening of this action packed thriller.

Got a second? I barely do.

Digital life of a pixel pusher.

For once in the past few months I've actually got time to post something new in here that isn't event photos. Wow. Don't get me wrong I love taking club photos and posting them (b/c of all those pretty ladies obv...and the traffic), but those types of posts aren't the only things this blog was made for and sadly it's been the only time I've had to come back here and post. Until tonite! So here's a recap for those who don't have me on Facebook...
