Abandoned warehouse rave? YES PLEASE!
So for Valentine's Day this year seeing as how I was single I wasn't sure what exactly to do, until I got a message from my Montreal friend Cyndi about a party her boyfriend was throwing with the wonderful people over at Promise. A-MAZING!
I can't remember the last time I was at an abandoned warehouse for a party, exploring them and taking photos? sure, but I think the last time this happened for me was back in the 90's. Now for those who don't know, Promise is the heartbeat of the Toronto rave scene. These people consistently put together some of the best events I've been to in this city that are an absolute feast for all the senses; chill out areas, art installations, crazy lighting, really cheap cold water, awesome music with great sound, beautiful friendly people of all ages and walks of life, and last but not least one of the best vibes you'll find at an event in the "Screwface Capital" as some people call this city. (haha, it's funny because it's true.)
If you ever get a chance to attend one of these events I highly suggest it, even if it's not your 'cup of tea' it's worth the experience in my opinion.
So it turns out that the location was Tower Automotive which if you check out my decay album you'll find some photos I took on previous exploratory trips to this site. Now as cool as it would have been to have the party upstairs I completely understand why it wasn't, because some kid would likely fall down the empty elevator shaft... and ain't nobody got time for that!
Now I didn't snap a ton of pics because I was busy having the time of my life but I'm sure you'll get the gist of it from the few I've posted.
